  Since today is an extra day :
 – It is also Extra pollution – so people should conserve energy and do a carbon audit.

 – It is also an extra day of appreciation – so every manager should buy coffee or mango shakes for the team!

 – The library should give an extra day amnesty for people returning books late.

 – All those whose birthday falls on this day should get free lunch, because they will have to wait four more years for an official birthday!”

Trivia 1:

Leap years don’t always happen every
four years! The longest time between two leap
years is eight years. The last time that occurred
was between 1896 and 1904. The next time will be between 2096 and 2104.

Trivia 2:

In the Hindu calendar, the yearly lag
of a lunar year (which tends to have ten fewer
days (355-356 days) per year than the solar
calendar) is adjusted every 3 years.

Trivia 3:

In 1288, Scotland passed a law that
allowed women to propose marriage to the man of
their choice in the leap year. They also made it
law that any man who declined a proposal in a
leap year must pay a fine. The fine could range
from a kiss to payment for a silk dress or a pair of gloves.

There is even a Webzine dedicated to
the Leap Year and people born on Leap Day, who
are called Leaplings or Leapies!

Babies has released free software that Web
designers can use to avoid the dreaded “Invalid
birth date” bug. The software determines if any
year is a leap year, and can be used for birth
date verification. People born on February 29th
may encounter the bug whenever they enter their
birth date on a website registration screen!

The most recent year in which February
comprised five Fridays (like 2008) was in 1980,
and the next occurrence will be in 2036.

calendar, with every fourth year earmarked as a
